The Mint Garden by kimibobs

A physiological thriller. I am hoping to make the story into a novel, and would appreciate feedback/ideas. I am writing the first chapter and have an outline.

 This is a story about, murder, betrayal, guilt, love and a woman’s journey through mental illness to recovery. (Well, that’s the theory!)

Lisa Scarret is obsessed with mint. Her garden is full of it. She believes that it is the key to eternal youth. As a child her father encouraged her to believe that she was part of his family’s secret, and that one day she would become one of them and live forever.

 Lisa is obsessed with her missing father, who vanished in mysterious circumstances on her seventh birthday. Every seven years she has received a birthday card and a packet of mint seeds from him, but no clue as to where he is.  In February 2010 she received a large parcel from him with the words, ‘Do not open until 27th August 2010. My life depends on it.’ 

 Lisa hires a private detective to find her father. He uncovers a corporate conspiracy of global proportions and believes that her mysterious parcel is the key.
