Summary

Two high school seniors Brandon and Lauren are soul mates and madly, deeply in love. For Brandon, it was love at first site. This story is primarily told from Brandon's point of view. The two play games where Brandon will sing/quote lyrics of a song and Lauren will respond, referring to Brandon by the name of the vocalist of the song. Lauren and her mother are fairly religious where Brandon is currently at odds with organized religion at present. Before the senior prom, Lauren's mother requests that Brandon and Lauren promise in front of her, Brandon's parents and the reverend of their church (after services) that they will remain pure as they will be staying overnight in the hotel that the prom is being held.
