Summary

Well it's a story about a British officer who got sent from his duty in India to what was than known as Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq) on certain excavation mission. Set in the year 1860, the story tells a tale about a man who lost his faith into everything, and only seeks to find a purpose in life. A bit nihilistic man, but also willing to explore and find new pleasures in life. His mission leads him to find a large zigurat located into south Mesopotamian dessert...
